ROOTS NEVER FLY

I’ve always found it strange that a tree can live for hundreds of years without ever leaving the place where it began.

A butterfly is given much less time, yet it can travel farther than we imagine.

I brought them together because they remind me that life is not measured only by how long we are here.

Sometimes it is measured by how far we dared to go.

Roots can give us a beginning.
But wings decide how far the story goes.
